ATI v8.23.7 Display Drivers

Phoronix -- Released from ATI today are the new Windows CATALYST v6.3 display drivers as well as the now monthly Linux fglrx display drivers. The new ATI Linux v8.23.7 display drivers continue to lack X1000 series support but there are a few improvements in this release when it comes to OpenGL, FSAA, and X800/850 compatibility improvements. Today at Phoronix, we have taken these drivers for yet another spin to display its gaming performance abilities on this exciting eve of CeBIT 2006.

ATi Avivo Video and Display Engine

Hexus -- This technology discussion is based in large part on a whitepaper and presentation PDF supplied by ATI themselves, on their own technology. Accompanying hardware that provides the latter stages of an Avivo implementation wasn't used to verify the claims made. ATI v8.22.5 Display Drivers

ATI Radeon X800 Pro

Viper Lair -- The X800 Pro is definitely no slouch. Smooth performance in most games with the image quality turned up and the resolution maxed is something to be proud of. Based on our results, we have no problems recommending this card to our readers. While some benchmarks have shown the 6800 GT to be faster, the actual gaming experiences with the X800 Pro were positive.

ATI FireGL V7600 512MB

HOTHardware -- Today at HotHardware, we an evaluation of the new FireGL V7600 512MB workstation graphics card on tap. This card is based on the same basic board design as the Radeon HD 2900 lineup for gamers, but it is tweaked on both the hardware and software level for enhanced workstation performance. The card is the least costly of ATI’s FireGL lineup based on the R600 GPU, and currently retails for just south of $1,000.
