Viper Lair -- The 5850 has gained a reputation for a being a great overclocker and great value for money. With DirectX 11 and Eyefinity support, as well blistering performance that won't overly tax your power supply, it certainly has a lot going for it. Of course, many high end ATI cards come with Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and with the 5850's overclock ability, HIS thought it was time to put out a Turbo version of their 5850. The HIS 5850 Turbo comes clocked at faster speeds than a standard 5850, includes a free game and sports the excellent iCooler cooling setup.

Overclockers Online -- the best price/performance card ever built' How can you argue with
that statement after reading this review? If you were not impressed by the
42% overclock of the GPU core or the 22% overclock of the memory, then
surely the temperature when running this ridiculously impressive overclock
under load thanks to the IceQ II cooling technology that HIS incorporates in
their X800GTO offering has you running out the door to buy it. In addition
to the overclocking capabilities of the HIS X800GTO, the pure performance of
this new chipset is just incredible. I was surprised going through the
benchmark results just how much of a difference there was compared to the
6600GT.
TweakTown -- Recently we saw ATI launch the HD 4890 and while it's not the fastest single GPU card on the market, it's not the most expensive either. Compared to the GTX 275 it has its ups and downs and while NVIDIA and ATI say the RRP on the two cards are the same, now that we've got stock of each on the market we're finding that the HD 4890 is coming in cheaper.
>From the word go we've seen some companies offer overclocked models, almost from release date. One of those companies is HIS and today we'll be taking the time to see how their Turbo version of the card goes.
XYZ Computing -- This review is going to take a look at the X700 IceQ video card from HIS. If you built a system a not long ago (probably more than 12 months), there is a good chance that your video card is not aging very gracefully. There are a lot of reasons to consider a card like the X700 IceQ, but a main one is that cards like the ATI Radeon 9600 are having a lot of trouble with this generation's games and they are in need replacement. If you want to do this without breaking the bank you are going to need a solid, mid-level AGP card in order to get the most out of a game like Half Life 2. This way your socket A, 478, or 754 computer can stay intact and you can cure your gaming woes.
Viper Lair -- Overall I think this card and its bundle is fantastic. It sits between the X1800XL and the 7600GT in performance and price, and comes overclocked out of the box. I can't think of any bad points really; the platinum pack is starting to show its age is really the only negative, and thats subjective as to how much it would effect you purchasing this card. It certainly wouldn't stop me. Highly recommended, if you're on the look out for a mid-range card and can spend the little extra over a 7600GT, this card should be on your short list.
XYZ Computing -- While ATI's offerings last generation were clearly lacking in comparision to the 6600 GT, this time around things could be different. ATI's X1K line was not the definitive blow which they intended to strike against Nvidia after last year's collapse, but it has been made clear that these cards are worth looking at. This review is going to be examining the HIS X1600 XT IceQ Turbo which features ATI's RV530 GPU. On paper it looks like a very solid mid-range card, especially compared to what else is out there in its price category. Its competitors include cards like the 6600 GT, a few lower-end 6800s, and ATI's X800 GTOs, to name a few.
Viper Lair -- HIS have sent over their Platinum package HIS 5830 Turbo, supplied with extra software, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (a $60 game) and it comes pre-overclocked above the recommended AMD specs. The HIS 5830 Turbo also sports their iCooler cooling setup which we really liked on the 4xxx HIS cards we reviewed a while back, so let's open the box shall we?
techPowerUp -- AMD's next step in their Radeon HD 5000 release strategy is the Radeon HD 5770 which is based on the new 40 nm Juniper core. It features 800 shaders and 1 GB of GDDR5 memory on a 128-bit bus. Essentially this makes the card perform like a HD 4870 but adds new features like DirectX 11, ATI Eyefinity and reduced power consumption.
