Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler

Overclocker Cafe -- The Hyper 212 Plus Cooler does a great job with a single cooling fan attached or going all out with two. With the single though, we liked the tower set up and the relative silence of its operation. Build quality was the norm from Cooler Master; excellent. The only thing we didn't like was the motherboard removal. Removing a board to install a cooler is no big thing especially if you are sporting a Cooler Master Scout or Cooler Master Sniper Case where you can access the back side of the mobo through a cutout in the tray. If you aren't however, it is a mild pain.

Think Computers -- After doing a lot of experimenting with coolers utilizing this technology, I have found that it does work rather than just looking good on paper. Today’s cooler will be the 11th I have tested using this, and I have found that just as a copper-based cooler, it is what the manufacturer does with the remainder of the cooler that determines how well it cools. Today I will be looking at the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus CPU Cooler. It is a 4-heatpipe 120mm tower cooler utilizing Direct contact heatpipes. It has a brand new style of mounting hardware, one base/retainer fits all three of Intel’s m ounting configurations. Will the Hyper 212 Plus keep my new LGA 1156 i7 cool? Read on to see!

TweakTown -- Rethinking a few things after the original Hyper 212 was released, Cooler Master saw the need to take the 212 back to the drawing board and see what they could do to offer a better solution. Not only is the actual cooler a bit different this time around, but they went with another style of fan. They also got together with the engineers to develop an all new mounting hardware, which are welcomed changes in my eyes. I cannot make a direct comparison of temperatures however, as my testing method at that time was very different from the T.E.C.C. solution Chris created and what we use here today. I will however point out all the differences from the original design to the Hyper 212 Plus.
